Welcome to the Home Page of Explorer Post 83

Explorer Post 83, a laboratory science based program offers a unique opportunity for high school students** interested in science and mathematics. By participating in Explorer Post 83’s program, you will not only meet Abbott scientists and take part in hands-on activities but you will also find yourself using Abbott Laboratories’ advanced scientific equipment. You’ll not only see the application of science in an industrial setting, but also see real world application!

Post 83 meets every other Monday night, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, starting in early October through late April. (Click here to view schedule). The meetings usually cover a variety of scientific topics and are led by Abbott scientists while being situated in a laboratory environment.

Please join us for our Monday night meetings at Abbott Laboratories’ Corporate Headquarters at Abbott Park. You should enter by Gate 1 Gatehouse (middle gate on Hwy 43 – Waukegan Road, with the tall tower with Abbott logo) and then park behind the gate house in the “Visitor Center parking area (DO NOT GO THROUGH THE GATE). The annual renewal fee is $8.00. Fee of $11.00 for new members.
